COMMUNITY & CHARITABLE PARTNERSHIPS

Brian’s Heart, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization that raises money to purchase portable AED’s for placement in public venues. Cadence Training Solutions, LLC is proud to partner with Brian's Heart to create awareness of their mission and the work they are doing to place life-saving devices in our communities.

WHAT THEY DO

By raising money to purchase portable AEDs they are able to fulfill their two-fold mission of getting as many AED’s as possible out in the public as well as educate the public on the life -saving capabilities of an AED as well as its ease of use.

WHY THEY DO IT

Brian Goff went into cardiac arrest following a heart attack on September 19, 2015 while playing softball. The complex where he was playing did not have a portable AED unit on site. Despite efforts to save his life with CPR, Brian did not survive. It will never be known if Brian would have been saved had there been a portable AED unit at the softball complex. What is known, however, is that if an AED had been available, the family would have had the consolation of knowing that everything possible was done to save his life. The motivation for creating this organization comes from the possibility that Brian may still be here had an AED been available in those first crucial moments following his cardiac arrest. It is in his memory that they work to raise money and put portable AED’s in communities.

HOW THEY DO IT
Brian’s Heart hosts an annual softball tournament each August. Funds are generated from team entry fees, tee shirt sales, and raffles. They also seek funding from corporate sponsors.

JAKE'S STORY

Jake began his law enforcement career working for Marion County Sheriff’s Office in 2010. In 2013, Jake accepted a position to patrol the streets of Tipton with the Tipton County Sheriff’s Department. Several years later, Jake followed his dream of becoming a K9 handler and began serving the community of Boone County with the Boone County Sheriff’s Office with his furry partner, Brik.

Service to others was one of Jake’s greatest passions and he was constantly assisting others in need. As an organization, they wish to promote and maintain his legacy of helping others.

Jen Pickett, is Deputy Jacob Pickett’s surviving spouse. Her goal is to bring life to this organization that will help others in the law enforcement family. As a law enforcement officer’s (LEO) wife for years, she knows the ties in law enforcement are strong and we are all one large blue family. After losing Jake in the line of duty, she has felt the bonds of that family more than ever. Her mission is to pay forward that love and kindness. Other LEO families need assistance in areas beyond line of duty injuries and deaths, whether it is a life altering diagnosis, natural disaster, or suicide. Jen wants others to know that in this family no one fights alone.

As an organization, they will Respond like Jake!

THEIR STORY

Meagan and Scott Chisholm are the proud parents to four beautiful children: Connor, Charley, and twins Levi and Lainey. Their world changed on November 28, 2020 when Levi and Lainey experienced a tragic drowning accident at 22 months old.

Following the accident, Meagan & Scott immediately turned to their faith and sought prayers via social media, resulting in Levi & Lainey’s stories being shared around the world (Facebook & Instagram). Lainey miraculously had a full recovery, but Levi unfortunately suffered severe brain damage. As a means to find purpose in their pain, Meagan & Scott committed to the ongoing public sharing of Levi’s recovery journey with the intent of helping others facing adversity of their own.

After the broad sharing of Levi’s story on social media, Meagan & Scott were generously given financial donations to fund Levi’s recovery. It was clear God was calling upon Meagan & Scott to pay these gifts forward and so, The Light for Levi Foundation was founded in 2021.

Levi’s name means “joined together” or ‘united.” The irony of this is not lost on Meagan & Scott, as the global reach of Levi’s story has now united hundreds of thousands of people to unite in prayer, faith, and hope. Faith is the light that walks the Chisholm Family through their moments of darkness.

The Light for Levi Foundation hosts events throughout the year to raise funds to forward their mission. Cadence CPR/AED/First Aid was a proud Hole Sponsor at the 2021 Golf Outing and look forward to sponsoring more events in the future.
