QMA PROGRAM
Ready to do more? This is your next step.
The QMA Program at Cadence Healthcare Training Solutions is built for CNAs who are ready to level up. In just 100 hours of training, you'll gain the skills, credentials, and confidence to safely administer medications and treatments in long-term care and assisted living settings, all in compliance with Indiana state requirements.
Comprehensive Coursework & Immersive Hands-On Training
This isn't just more classroom time. The QMA program is a state-approved, 100-hour program (60 hours of theory + 40 hours of practicum) that blends instruction with real clinical exposure so you're ready to perform, not just pass.
Skills You Will Master
- Medication safety and scope of practice
- Medication classifications, routes, and administration
- Dosage calculation and order interpretation
- Infection control and medication storage
- Treatment application and administration
- Documentation and reporting standards
- Resident rights and patient-centered care
- Recognizing and responding to medication concerns
Developing Essential Soft Skills
Beyond technical competency, QMA graduates are trained to think critically and communicate clearly with nursing staff. You'll develop:
- Professional accountability and ethical practice
- Critical thinking and clinical observation
- Interpersonal communication with residents and care teams
- Collaboration with RNs and LPNs
- Cultural sensitivity and compassionate care
Innovative Learning Strategies
Our curriculum uses a variety of methods to make sure the content sticks and the skills transfer:
- Lectures and PowerPoint presentations
- Videos and demonstrations
- Discussion and case studies
- Hands-on skills practice
- Simulation-based learning
- Role-play and scenario practice
- Practice tests and exam preparation support
Immersive Clinical Experience
Your 40-hour practicum takes place in a real long-term care setting, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Insulin administration practicum requires direct RN supervision. Upon successful program completion, you'll be eligible to sit for the Indiana state competency exam.
